Background
The current methods of detectinga SARS-CoV-2 infection include nucleic acid detections, antibody detections, and antigen detections. Compared to nucleic acid detections, antibody detections and antigen detections are faster and more convenient. Therefore, they are suitable for scenarios such as rapid screening and instant detection.
The sensitivity and specificity of the serological diagnostic kits are significantly affected by the quality of antigen and antibody reagents. To better support the development of the diagnostic kits, ACROBiosystems has developed a serial of high-quality antigen and antibody reagents. Furthermore, several in vitro diagnostics companies are using ACRO’s reagents to develop COVID-19 serological diagnostics products. Among them, Babson Diagnostics, a US diagnostics company, successfully obtained the Emergency Use Authority from FDA and launched their chemiluminescent COVID-19 antibody detection kit employing ACRO’s biotin-labeled S1 protein.

ACROBiosystems has launched matched antibody pairs that are specifically designed and screened for antigen detection kit development, which are suitable for different diagnostic assays, such as chemiluminescent immunoassay, ELISA, gold immunochromatography assay, etc. The sensitivity of the sandwich ELISA can be as low as 12 pg/mL in the verification study using recombinant antigens. In addition, the antibody pairs have been verified using inactivated virus samples. The titer, which was determined using our LFA assay, is as low as 5 TCID50.
Facing increasingly complex mutations, scientists are concerned whether the new mutants could be detected by rapid antigen tests. ACROBiosystems successfully verified that our high-sensitive antibody pair (Cat. No. S1N-M12A1/S1N-M13A1) can detect the latest SARS-CoV-2 variants.
